HEATKILLER® SW-X series water blocks are specifically designed for cooling the voltage regulation modules (VRMs) of modern mainboards. They can be installed instead of the factory-installed passive heatsinks.
Those passive heatsinks often work at their full thermal capacity. If the CPU is being watercooled, the supportive air flow from the CPU cooler goes missing. This raises the thermal load of the VRMs, thus reducing the reserve capacity for extensive overclocking. HEATKILLER® SW-X series water blocks solve this issue. They quickly dissipate the additional heat via the cooling loop. Hence, the computer is stable even when operating at its limit.
The reduced thermal load of the electrical components also extends the lifespan. Using water blocks on thermal sensitive components is especially recommend for high value mainboards.
The HEATKILLER® SW-X series water blocks are flat channel water blocks. Since the channels have a large volume, the overall restriction is kept very low. The design is very simple and modular. Hence, the water block can be reused for the next generation of mainboards. Ideally, only the base plate needs to be replaced. We offer tailored base plates for selected mainboards. DIY base plates are offered for all mainboards.
Our compatibility list helps finding the right water block for your mainboard.
The HEATKILLER® SW-X series water blocks are manufactured on a modern CNC machine park at our company’s headquarter in Germany. The used electrolytic copper is more than 99% pure. For the budget LT version, we use a high quality industrial plastic (POM).
